What is it?
qX is a personal Identity Management utility with file explorer and search features.  qX allows you to store an unlimited number of account profiles (i.e. Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Passwords, etc...) in an encrypted file format.  What's more is that qX inherits its security features from Whamware.Crypt so you know it's security you can count on.

qX has 4 tabs (URL, Search, Identities and Options) on the main form.  The URL tab allows you to quickly access any file or URL in as few as 3 key strokes.  qX accomplishes this through the use of "Hot Keys".  A Hot Key is a link to a file system or internet URL that can be referenced in as few as 3 strokes.  qX allows the use of Hot Keys in any field that is expecting a URL.

The Search tab allows you to perform fast file and directory searching based on the following options:

  • File/Director name
  • File attributes (archive, directory, hidden, read-only, system)
  • File date (created, modified, accessed)
  • File size (exact match or range)
  • File contents
  • Case sensitivity
  • Recursive searches
qX performs the search and returns an explorer window with the matching files so you can quickly locate the information you are looking for.  Need to search several locations?  Not a problem!  qX contains a multi-threaded search engine that can run several searched at the same time, while you continue working.

The Identities tab is where you can store any private account information.  No more struggling to remember a never ending list of account numbers, passwords and pin numbers.  qX keeps track of all this information for you and stores it in an encrypted file, so prying eyes won't find you data.  qX doesn't stop there!  qX provides a rule based random password generator so you can more easily setup strong passwords for all your accounts.

The Options tab is where you setup application wide settings like:

  • Quick Launch Shortcut (For accessing qX)
  • Style (Compact or Advanced)
  • URL History
  • Explorer Options
    • Single or Multi pane
    • Set root folder
    • Window style (Normal, Restore or Maximized)
